Infant Feeding

Great oral development for breathing, sleeping, eating, and talking all starts with the way babies feed. Sometimes, challenges in infant feeding can be dismissed as something "normal." But here at Little Bridges, we take a closer look. We perform a functional evaluation of what your baby is doing with their mouth and body during feeding. We really listen to your concerns as parents and work with you to create a comprehensive plan that addresses any issues and compensations we find. Your baby's health and development matter to us, and we're here to help every step of the way.

Feeding Challenges Can
Look Like The Following:

  • Pain when breastfeeding or feels like biting.

  • Baby is losing weight and in need of
    supplementation.

  • Baby is rapidly gaining weight.

  • Baby pops off breast/bottle, clicks, has
    shallow latch.

  • Baby has reflux, spit up and/or colic.

  • It has been recommended that baby switch
    to bottles.

  • Mom reports low milk supply or overproduction.

  • Baby feeds every hour or has short or
    incomplete feeding sessions.

  • Baby has been diagnosed with tongue
and/or lip tie or has open mouth at rest/low tongue posture.
